Although the group is primarily a practical archaeological group, we do have the occasional speakers.  If this is an external speaker then the nominal charge of £1 is required.

At the AGM, David Ratledge gave an overview of the latest LIDAR discoveries of Roman roads in the North-West of England.  Of particular interest for our group was the various possible routes from Ribchester and Preston through to Lancaster.  It is intended to investigate part of the Ribchester to Garstang in the near future.  At the end of the talk David produced an interesting snippet of information implying that there may well have been a road from the south Fylde, across the Ribble on on to the fort at Kirkham.  This provides a number of interesting dig possibilities.
